We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change this Policy at any time. If we make any material changes to this Policy we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on the Platform prior to the change becoming effective. Continuing to use the Services after such notification by Medean or posting of changes on the Platform will indicate your acceptance of the amended terms. If you do not agree with any of the amended terms, you must avoid any further use of the Services. We encourage you to periodically review this Policy for the latest information on our privacy practices.
Note that in order to use our Services you must be 18 years or older.
Information We Collect and/or Receive From You
I. Information provided by you
We will collect (and/or receive) information about you that you provide while you use the Platform. We collect most of this information when you register for our Services or enroll in selected features of the Services. Additional information may be gathered during your subsequent use of the Platform and our communications with you.
Certain personal information must be supplied during the user registration process, in order to meet our legal obligations, verify your identity, provide you with Services, and complete your transaction. Depending on the Services you choose, the following categories of information may be collected:
Your contact information (including your email address)
Your personal identifying information (including, for example, your name, address, zip code, phone number, date of birth, income, marital status, and gender)
Your financial account information (including access credentials, your financial institution’s name, names of your credit and/or debit cards and financial accounts that you elect to connect to the Platform)
Medean does not store your usernames or passwords for financial institutions on its servers. We are granted read-only access to pull balances and transactions from your financial accounts via third-party API.
If you transact business with us, we may collect your billing information (including debit card and/or credit card number, expiration date, billing address and other payment related information)
We may request information about your interests and activities, your financial life and other demographic information, as well as public information such as user ratings, reviews and comments, and other information you view or contribute to the website.
Please be aware that User Generated Content is viewable by other Users of the Platform. We are not responsible for any User’s use of this information. A User’s use of the information is not subject to this Policy. You should take care not to include any personally identifiable information in your User Generated Content.
We do not collect this information from users who are viewing the publicly available content on the Platform but have not registered with us, unless they provide such information voluntarily, such as by registering, enrolling in selected features of the Services, or contacting us through the “Contact Us” section of the Platform.
II. Information based on your activity within our platform
In order to provide Services to you and improve our business, Medean collects information about your transactions and activity on our Platform, including the following information:
In order to provide certain location-based features and functionalities of the Services, we will collect geolocational information while you are using the Platform. Users of an Apple iOS mobile device must opt in to the collection of such information by selecting the geolocation option within the App and enabling location services within the mobile operating system on a User’s mobile device. Users of an Android device must opt out of the collection of geolocation information by selecting the geolocation option within the App and disabling location services within the mobile operating system on a User’s mobile device. Users are not required to opt-in, but Medean will not be able to provide certain location features and/or functionalities to Users that have not opted in.
Clickstream data is non-personal information transmitted automatically to us from your computer or mobile device when you interact with our online service using your computer browser or a Medean mobile app. Clickstream data may include your computer’s IP address, the type of Internet browser and operating system you are using, mobile device platform, type of Java Virtual Machine, Internet connection speed and identification of any hardware or software that has previously caused technical problems with the Medean service. Clickstream data may also include the pages and information you access on our service, the time you spend on our service, and the frequency, scope, and path you take while navigating our service. Collection and analysis of clickstream data permits your computer or mobile device to connect with and navigate our service more effectively. Clickstream data will not be used to identify you personally.
In addition, we may make use of web beacons on the Services for user security purposes and in order to improve product service and evaluation. A web beacon is an object that is inserted in an e-mail or web page and is usually invisible to the user. The beacon allows checking that a user has viewed the page or e-mail, allowing us to track user services and website traffic more effectively. In addition to the above, we may collect limited information from your mobile device in order to provide the App. Such information may include your mobile device type, mobile device id, and date and time stamps of App use. We may also deploy tracking technologies within the App to help us gather aggregate statistics.

Information from third-parties
We may also collect information about you from third parties. We may collect information about you from affiliated or nonaffiliated companies for purposes of business analysis or to present targeted marketing offers to you. We also work with third parties to display our advertising on their websites or mobile apps and manage our advertising on other websites or mobile apps. These third parties may use tracking technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on their websites and mobile apps and other websites and mobile apps in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities, usage and interests.

II. Anonymized and Aggregate Information
Besides the personal information, clickstream data and information stored on cookies that we collect directly from you and your computer or mobile device, Medean uses personal information to generate two categories of non-personal information: (1) anonymized data, which relates to individuals but replaces names and other personally-identifiable information with coded entries that do not disclose individual identities; and (2) aggregate data, which relates to collective characteristics of our Users, such as the percentage of Users that live in specific zip codes, that cannot be used to identify individual Users. No personally identifiable information will be included in the Aggregated Non-Personal Information.
Aggregated Non-Personal Information is used to provide comparison data and insights for our Users. Medean also uses aggregated information for such purposes as to operate and enhance our services, target promotions to Users, and statistically analyze the usage of our Web site to improve the content, layout and services of the Web site and enhance our marketing and promotional efforts.
How Do We Share the Information with Others
We want you to understand when and with whom we may share personal or other information we have collected about you or your activities on our website or while using our services. We do not sell, rent or lease your information to third parties for any of their marketing purposes. By law, you are permitted to limit some types of sharing, but not others.
We will share your information with third parties as permitted by law, including in the following specific ways:
I. Authorized Third Party Service Providers
We offer certain features or services within the Service that are facilitated by Third Party Providers. We will share your information with such Third Party Providers as required to operate our Services, to facilitate your use of them, and to help us conduct our business and marketing activities. Except as expressly set forth herein, use by the Third Party Providers of your information is subject to the terms of this Policy. These Third Party Providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide their services to us.
We've engaged Yodlee Inc., a trusted, partner to provide us financial account aggregation services. The financial account information (including access credentials, your financial institution’s name, names of your credit and/or debit cards and financial accounts that you elect to connect to the Platform) that you provide us during registration are passed on to Yodlee Inc. and stored on their servers in accordance with their security and privacy practices. For improved safety, we purposefully do not store any of this information. Yodlee Inc.’s use of this financial account information will be governed by this Policy.
II. Additional Service Providers
We, like many businesses, sometimes hire other companies (including both nonaffiliated third parties and affiliated companies) to perform certain business-related functions. Examples include mailing information, maintaining databases, hosting services, offering customer service and processing payments. When we employ another company to perform a business-related function, we provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function, which may include your information. Such business-related service providers are authorized to use your information only for the purpose of performing their specific function on behalf of Medean. Information may also be shared among affiliates of Medean for this purpose, where an affiliate provides services to or on behalf of Medean.
III. Third Party Payment Processor
For our premium members, we will share your credit card and other payment related information with a Third Party Payment Processor as necessary to process your payment. Storage by the Third Party Payment Processor of your credit card and other payment relating information is subject to the privacy policies and practices of the Third Party Payment Processor and is not subject to the terms of this Policy. We may also share information with affiliated financial companies with whom we may market products jointly. IV. Legal Requests and Regulatory Requirements
We may share your information to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; or for the purposes of limiting fraud; or in connection with an audit of Medean. In response to a subpoena, bankruptcy proceedings or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from law enforcement or other government or regulatory agency; to establish or exercise our legal rights; to defend against legal claims; or as otherwise required by law. In such cases, we may raise or waive any legal objection or right available to us.
V. Change of Control
If we transfer or sell our business relating to the Services, or any part thereof, to an affiliated company or a third party, including, but not limited to, by merger, sale of equity interests, sale of all or substantially all assets or other change of control transaction involving such business, then we will transfer your information as part of the transferred assets to the acquirer of such business and you hereby give your prior consent thereto.
Important Privacy Choices
I. Data Retention
We will retain billing records and communication opt-out preference as appropriate. When you request that we delete your Medean account, we will permanently expunge your financial data from our productions servers and further access to your account will be disabled. We may still continue to communicate with you about our Services, give you important business updates that may affect you, and let you know about products and services that may interest you, unless you have opted out of receiving marketing communications. However, aggregate, non-personally identifiable information derived from your personal information may remain on our production servers indefinitely. Your data also may remain on a backup server or media, as required to ensure our continued ability to provide the service in the event of malfunction to our primary production servers. We also reserve the continuing right to use aggregate, non-personally identifiable aggregate information after you have discontinued the service.
II. Your Access Rights
As required by applicable law, including the U.S.-E.U. Privacy Shield Framework, you may contact us to confirm whether we maintain, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your Personal Information and to review it in order to verify its accuracy and the lawfulness of our processing of such Personal Information. Where you have determined that the Personal Information we collected about you is inaccurate or processed in violation of applicable law, including the U.S.-E.U. Privacy Shield Principles, you may also request that your Personal Information be corrected, amended, or deleted. Requests for access to your Personal Information and to have it corrected, amended, or deleted should be sent to or to the mailing address provided under "Contact Us."
You will be given the opportunity, in any commercial e-mail that we send to you, to opt out of receiving such messages in the future. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these e-mails or you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. It may take up to 10 business days for us to process an opt-out request. We may send you other types of transactional and relationship e-mail communications, such as service announcements, administrative notices, and surveys, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. Please note that changing information in your account, or otherwise opting out of receipt of promotional e-mail communications will only affect future activities or communications from us.
IV. Updating Your Information
You may update certain information that is stored in your user account, such as your email, password, and demographics by accessing your personal settings page in your account through the Platform. If you find that any information in your account is not accurate, complete or updated, then you should make all necessary changes to correct it in the personal settings page in your account. You can also change information in your account by contacting us at email@example.com. Please keep in mind that false, incorrect, or outdated information may prevent you from registering with the Services and impair our ability to provide you with Services. If you are unable to update your information via your user account, you may submit an access request to us by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your email should include adequate details of your request. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Security of Your Information
We use commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard your information from any unlawful interceptions or access, or other kinds of abuse and misuse. We implement a variety of security systems, applications and procedures to do this. Among such security methods are ISO27001 certified systems and operations, using certified secure cloud services to store sensitive information, firewalls, encryption, authentication procedures and two-factor authentication. Furthermore, we restrict access to your information to only those employees, contractors and agents with a need to know in order to provide services to you. Please understand, however, that no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our databases, nor can we guarantee that the information that you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to and from us over the Internet. In particular, e-mail sent to or from the Platform may not be secure, and you should therefore take special care in deciding what information you send to us via e-mail. Please also be aware that certain information provided by you in connection with your use of the App may be stored on your mobile device (even if we do not collect that information). You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your mobile device from unauthorized access.
Our service and Website are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not provide us with any information. When we acquire actual knowledge that a Visitor to our service is under the age of 18, we will take appropriate measures to avoid collection of personal information from that Visitor and to delete any information inadvertently collected from that Visitor.
From time to time we may change or update our Privacy Statements. We reserve the right to make changes or updates at any time. If we make material changes to the way we process your Personal Information, we will provide you notice via our Service or by other communication channels, such as by email or community post. Please review any changes carefully. If you object to any of the changes and no longer wish to use our Services, you may close your account(s).
